The Top 25 Horror Films According To Rotten Tomatoes

Not everyone agrees with the critics but if you’re one of the people who do, then here is a list of the best reviewed horror films of all time. The Rotten Tomatoes site has averaged out the critic’s reviews for hundreds of horror films over the years. Here are the 25 best ever, according to the critics.

Halloween is upon us once again. Maybe you plan to spend the day trick-or-treating, or maybe you’re going to sit in the most sincere pumpkin patch and wait for the Great Pumpkin to bring you lots of goodies.Or maybe you’re going to watch horror films. If you are, let the critics recommend some for you.

Rotten Tomatoes has ranked their top 25 horror films, based on the critic’s reviews. Keep in mind these scores are adjusted for the number of reviews for each entry. This means that a higher score with less reviews might be ranked below a lower rated film with more reviews.

That being said, here are the top 25, according to the critics, via Rotten Tomatoes.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a good choice for number one, since it’s the film that began the horror genre. It wasn’t technically the first horror film ever made but it was the first hit for the genre. If you haven’t seen it, you should. It gave us the first screen zombie, long before the Walking Dead.

There are a lot of great movies on this list, and any of them makes great viewing for Halloween. So enjoy your candy and scary movies, and have a happy Halloween.
